So how do you become a Christian? Well its easy - you pray to God and ask him to become your Lord. I have often used the prayer below when helping someone become a Christian. First of all, you need to have faith that Jesus is the one and only person who can lead you to a right place with God. Then...
SORRY - Say Sorry to God for all the wrong things you have done. Apologise that you have ignored him. BUT you must mean it. You cant say sorry about anything unless you really mean that you will try to change your ways.
THANKYOU - Say Thankyou to God for sending His own child into OUR world so that we could learn about our Spiritual Father. Thank Jesus for sacrificing himself on the cross and coming back to life. Thank Jesus for creating a way for us to become right with God again.
ASK - Ask Jesus to become the Lord of your life. Ask for his help to walk the right path.
YES - Whenever you pray the above prayer, Jesus will always answer with a resounding YES. Once you pray this prayer, you are automatically a part of God's Kingdom. Once you pray this prayer, you automatically have millions of brothers and sisters around the world to join you in your new journey.
STAY - The above acronym spells STAY. This is what Jesus promises us when we become Christians. He will be with us through the good and the bad times. You can rely on him to answer your prayers.
SO WHAT HAPPENS NOW - Now it is now your responsibility to get to know God better: -
- Go to a good Church or a fun Youth Group. Meet with other Christians
- Get out a (easy to read) Bible and start to read it (I recomend you go straight to the Gospel of Mark to begin with). The Bible can be a difficult book to read so ask your Youth Group leader to read it with you
- Pray regularly and speak with your God
