1 - Hi Everyone

Breakaway Camp 1999 is sadly over again for another year. I hope you all had a great time. I know we did.

At camp this year we had a great time in the Mud Pit. We also loved the Bouncing Castle to play in. Grizzle and I jumped in when no-one was looking. Sly tried archery but forgot to let go of the arrow. We went bike riding, swam in the pool, played on the pool tables, and the table tennis tables, and we had a go at basketball but Mr Matt threw Grizzle through the hoop so we didn’t play anymore.

There was an excellent ‘Mad Scientist’ wide game. Sly was going for the Red team and Grizzle was going for the Yellow Team. Sly won (Ha Ha).

Grizzle loves canoeing and loves Bendeela.

Only one problem at camp this year. A whole bunch of us got sick. And when I say sick, wow! We have been praying for all of you who got sick. They were Matt, Sam and Daniel, Jesse and Sean, Teaghan, Warren, Ashley, Joshua, Scott, Miss Yvette, Miss Kate, Camp Dad, Mr Matt, Mr Stuart, Mr Jeremy, Mr Johnny, Mr Chad, and Miss Kristen. Grizzle and Sly Hope you all feel better now and come back next year.

We decided that we will send you this Newsletter sometimes during the year. Grizzle and Sly hope you like it. Inside this Newsletter, you will find a puzzle, an interview with a leader and a story. This Newsletter also has the names, addresses, and phone numbers of the camp leaders and kids. I know the leaders would love to get a letter from you. I reckon the friends you met at camp would like a letter too.

Grizzle: Mr Luke, What Do You Do For a Job?

Mr Luke: I am an apprentice builder. I build houses and I am going to TAFE to get my builders certificate.

Grizzle: What’s Your Favourite Sport?

Mr Luke: I love cricket. I play as often as I can. My team always wins.

Grizzle: What is the Funniest Thing that Ever Happened To You?

Mr Luke: I don’t know - that’s a hard question. I remember once I was teaching a friend how to drive a car. She was driving my car. She crashed it into my brother’s car and then it crashed into my mothers car. But that wasn’t very funny.

Grizzle: That’s a sad story.

Sly: Mr Luke - Do You Like Miss Nina too?

Grizzle: Sly! Stop That! You can’t ask that question.

Sly: But I like Miss Nina.

Grizzle: Sly, we already know… Mr Luke, What Makes You Come Back To Breakaway Camp each Year?

Mr Luke: I have been coming to the Breakaway Camps for a long time. I was a kid when I first came. And now I am a leader. I keep coming back because we all have a lot of fun. I get to meet new friends. And I get to tell my new friends about my best friend Jesus.

Grizzle: Why Do You Like Breakaway Camp?

Mr Luke: It just so cool. The people are fun and I have fun… I can’t wait until next year. I want everyone to come back again.

Grizzle: What Did You Think Was The Best Part of Junior Breakaway Camp?

Mr Luke: That question is too hard, I like everything about camp. Just everything.
